Former Indian cricketer noted that the nation of Pakistan and former players are not satisfied with their team’s performance in the T20 World Cup 2024.

The Men in Green played three group matches and gained victory in one match only against Canada on Tuesday. Nevertheless, they faced a major defeat against the USA by five runs in a Super Over tie and in its face-off with India by six runs.

Meanwhile, if some specific scenarios occur, including if Ireland defeat the USA in Florida on Friday (June 14) and then Pakistan beat Ireland on Sunday (June 16), then only Pakistan can advance in the next stage of the tournament.

Muhammad Kaif, on the other hand, was questioned on Star Sports about Pakistan’s fan’s reaction over the weather forecast in Florida. In response the veteran player responded that the fans are not satisfied with their team.

"The fans' prayers are not with them. There is a commotion there. Who is supporting them? Everyone is standing against them, whether you talk about their former players, I am watching everything, no one is supporting them, although they have played extremely badly," he responded.

"In the first match, Mohammad Amir was bowling wides in the Super Over. It was extremely poor bowling. You lost that match because of bowling. In the next match, they couldn't chase 119. They batted badly and dropped catches. I understand they have defeated Canada but they didn't do anything there for which you should praise them," Kaif observed.

"Babar Azam was set [against India] and could have won the match. Mohammad Rizwan was also set. They lost the match because of batting where both batters were set. They disintegrate under pressure. They drop catches and are unable to bat under pressure," he elaborated.

Moreover, the cricketer added that India have won six of seven matches against Pakistan in T20 World Cup. The main reason is that the Green Shirts drop a lot of catches and are unable to chase runs.

Nevertheless, he believes that the team have been fortunate enough on a few occasions and helped them progress.

"I will say one more thing. Luck works in their favour at times where Pakistan qualifies when they are virtually out. We have seen that many times. They haven't played well but luck favours them. If the Ireland vs USA match happens and Ireland win and Pakistan win the next match, both will be at four points and it will go down to net run rate," he said during the same discussion.
